Ashley Matchett

Ashley Matchett, PT, OCS, Cert. MDT - Owner of Terre Haute Physical Therapy
ashley@thphysicaltherapy.com

Born and raised in Australia, Ashley received his Bachelor of Physiotherapy and graduated with first class honors from The University of Queensland in 1993. Ashley moved to the United States in 1995 and established Terre Haute Physical Therapy in 2002 on the basis that patient care should come first and foremost. In Ashley's twenty years of experience, this core value has always remained of utmost importance to him. It is this core value that has given Terre Haute Physical Therapy an outstanding reputation for quality patient care.

Ashley has attended numerous continuing education courses and seminars over the the years; however, his career took another step forward in 2009 when he successfully achieved the designation "Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy." He successfully completed re-certification in June 2019.

In March 2019 Ashley earned MDT Certification from The McKenzie Institute® USA Center for Postgraduate Study in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT).

Physical therapists must complete a series of advanced postgraduate courses to become certified practitioners of the McKenzie Method® of MDT, an evidence-based patient management system proven to eliminate back, neck and extremity pain in fewer visits compared to traditional treatment.

The key distinction is its initial assessment component — a safe and reliable means to accurately reach a diagnosis that will guide an appropriate treatment plan. Rarely are expensive tests required, as Certified MDT clinicians have a valid indicator to know right away whether — and how — the direction-specific exercise treatment will work for each patient.
